How the 2018 Ford F-150 Improves Upon the 2017 Ford F-150
Thanks to three new and improved engines, the 2018 Ford F-150 is more powerful and more efficient than the 2017 Ford F-150. For starters, the new Ford F-150 can feature a smaller and more efficient 3.3-liter V6 engine that adds dual port and direct-injection technology, which means you’re getting more horsepower, more torque and better projected gas mileage than the previous 3.5-liter V6 engine. In fact, this new engine offers 290 horsepower, up eight horsepower from the old engine, and 265 pound-feet of torque, up 12 pound-feet from the old engine. Advanced dual port and direct-injection technology also helps the all-new second-generation 2.7-liter EcoBoost V6 engine offer 400 pound-feet of torque, which is up 25 pound-feet from 2017. The 5.0-liter Ti-VCT V8 engine has also been optimized to offer 395 horsepower, up 10 horsepower from 2017, and 400 pound-feet of torque, up 13 pound-feet from 2017.
How the 2018 Ford Expedition Improves Upon the 2017 Ford Expedition
The 2018 Ford Expedition is also more powerful and more efficient than the 2017 Ford Expedition thanks to similar engine enhancements. In this case, the new Ford Expedition features a new 3.5-liter EcoBoost engine, which improves horsepower and torque throughout the 2018 Expedition lineup. For the 2018 Ford Expedition XL, XLT and Limited, it offers 375 horsepower, up 10 horsepower from 2017, and 470 pound-feet of torque, up 50 pound-feet from 2017. For the 2018 Ford Expedition Platinum, it offers 400 horsepower, up 35 horsepower from 2017, and 480 pound-feet of torque, up 60 pound-feet from 2017.
