All-New Ford Edge ST Powertrain Features
As soon as you heard the Ford Performance Team was working on a new performance-enhanced Ford SUV, you were probably incredibly excited to find out what would be under the hood. Well, you need wait no longer. The 2019 Ford Edge ST is powered by a 2.7-liter twin-turbocharged EcoBoost engine paired with a quick-shifting eight-speed automatic transmission. This powertrain can pump out 335 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, giving it the highest horsepower and torque ratings of any V6 engine in its segment. The new Ford Edge ST will also feature an all-new Sport Mode, which offers you a more aggressive throttle response and optimized shifting patterns. This new mode will hold gears near redline while you’re cornering, provide sharper engine braking, and delight your ears with a deeper and clearer exhaust tone. And that automatic transmission we mentioned, well, if you prefer to handle your own shifting, you can utilize the 2019 Edge ST’s steering wheel mounted SelectShift paddle shifters to manually shift.
