4^th of July 2017 Events in Tampa, FL

A lot of cities around the country like to tout their patriotism, but everyone who’s ever lived or visited us here in Tampa, FL, knows no one and nowhere does the 4^th of July quite like us. While many places will offer a fireworks show and maybe a little festival, here in Tampa, we offer all of that and more. There’s so much going on in Tampa on Tuesday, July 4, 2017, in fact, that we figured we’d better put together this little guide to let everyone know some of the best 4^th of July events going on in Tampa.

Light Up Tampa Bay

Did you really think we were going to start our guide to the best Tampa-area 4^th of July events with anything other than our city’s largest Independence Day celebration? That’s right, Light Up Tampa Bay is happening again in 2017. This free event starts at 6 p.m. at Channelside Bay Plaza with live music, food and all the fun you’ve come to expect at this annual event. The fireworks show is set to begin around 8:45 p.m., but be sure to get there early so you can get one of the 3,500 wristbands being distributed first-come, first-served that grant access to the waterfront.

4^th of July Family Funfest

If you’d like to watch the Light Up Tampa Bay fireworks show aboard the American Victory Ship, then the 4^th of July Family Funfest is the place for you. Starting at 6:30 p.m. on the ship, and featuring music, games, food, drinks and a ton of family-friendly activities, along with a breathtaking view of the fireworks, the Family Funfest is the perfect way to celebrate the 4^th of July.

Independence Day Celebration at the Florida Aquarium in Downtown Tampa

You can also celebrate the Fourth of July with the Independence Day Celebration at the Florida Aquarium in Downtown Tampa. Featuring family-friendly activities, all-American themed food, fireworks starting at 9 p.m. and much more, this is the perfect place to bring the family and celebrate America.
