Explaining Ford’s All-New Active Drive Assist Safety Feature
Ford has long been at the forefront of automotive technology and some impressive safety advancements for the 2021 model year go a long way toward proving that once again. That’s because the 2021 model year will feature the introduction of Ford’s all-new Active Drive Assist safety feature, which we’re going to explain right here.
What is the All-New Ford Active Drive Assist System and How Does this Driver Assistance Feature Work?
Ford began work on the all-new Active Drive Assist feature by optimizing its camera and radar sensing capabilities. Thanks to this work, the all-new Active Drive Assist driver assistance system provides “real-time hands-free driving opportunities” in specific designated zones throughout the country. The all-new Active Drive Assist technology will first be available on the 2021 Ford F-150 and the 2021 Ford Mustang Mach-E all-electric SUV before being rolled out to the rest of the 2021 Ford model lineup. Ford will also continue to work to designate more and more sections throughout the country as hands-free driving zones utilized by the all-new Active Drive Assist feature.
“As breakthroughs in new technology allow us to help reduce the stress of long highway drives, it’s important to make sure these capabilities can be enjoyed by the largest spread of people possible. Active Drive Assist can help improve the driving experience while ensuring people remain aware and fully in control, all for a price unmatched by our competitors – a commitment to affordable innovations that has driven us since Henry Ford put the world on wheels.”Hau Thai-Tang, Chief Product Platform and Operations Officer, Ford Motor Company
