Ford Begins 2019 Fiscal Year with Record Truck and SUV Sales

Ford’s Record Sales Highlight Industry Shift to Focus on New Trucks and SUVs
Ford isn’t the only brand shifting its focus to new trucks and new SUVs, but it is the brand that’s having the most success when it comes to that switch. Data has shown time and time again that automotive customers now much prefer a new SUV or a new truck – or even a new hatchback – over a new sedan. And while Ford isn’t completely moving away from its sedan offerings the way some other brands are, their focus on new truck offerings, like the all-new 2019 Ford Ranger, and new SUV offerings, like the all-new 2020 Ford Explorer, are clearly being well-received by customers.
“First quarter 2019 sales were solid for Ford. Our winning portfolio continues to deliver. F-Series expanded our leadership position while others slugged it out for second place. We have a close connection with our customers, allowing us to deliver what they need in their trucks. It can also be seen in our record sales of Ford SUVs.” – Mark LaNeve, Ford Vice President, U.S. Marketing, Sales and Service
