Ford Ranks 2nd in 2017 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
Ford is looking at a banner 2018 model year thanks to the introduction of the 2018 Ford EcoSport, the most advanced Mustang ever with the 2018 Ford Mustang and the most powerful and capable F-150 ever with the 2018 Ford F-150. But the 2017 model year has been just as impressive, and the proof is in the pudding – the pudding being the 2017 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study. See, Ford leapt all the way up to the Number 2 spot on the non-premium brand list, marking Ford’s best ranking since the list was introduced 31 years ago. How Ford Jumped Up to Second on the 2017 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study
For the 2016 J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, Ford ranked 11th among all brands – premium and non-premium – with 102 problems per 100 vehicles. Ford was able to improve to 86 problems per 100 vehicles this year, moving up to fourth on the full list, and second on the non-premium list. The 2017 Ford Expedition and 2017 Ford Mustang even took home top quality honors in their respective segments. Ford was able to achieve this success thanks to the advanced SYNC 3 infotainment system, a comprehensive suite of advanced new safety features and driver assistance systems and its advanced EcoBoost engine technology.
