Holidays Come Early (in 2015)

GT350R, 2015 Ford Raptor or GT Release Date
Last month we saw the reveal of the Shelby GT350. It is rumored that we will soon be seeing another GT350 along with a new Raptor and a long awaited Ford GT model. Though we are getting some news next month, there is no indication that we will hear about a GT350R, 2015 Ford Raptor or GT release date. Some even have the audacity to say that a new GT is just a myth.
Here’s what we know for sure so far. No matter how good the Mustang Shelby GT350 already is, Ford wants to bring out something that not only does a little better than the competition, it wants something that is unquestionably beyond whatever other automakers are producing.
The new SVT Raptor, the high powered dune-slayer will be coming back. Very little has been said about the more adventurous version of the F-150 so far, but a full reveal along with some specifications is expected to trickle out over the next month, leading up to the Detroit Auto Show. As of now we can say that an increase in power and efficiency are the most likely changes in the vehicle.
There are some indications of a Le Mans GTE-class car being prepared for 2016 and that a road-car counterpart will come with it. If there is truth to this, we expect that most of the headlines coming out of the Detroit Auto Show will be about the new GT. No exact names have been given to the vehicle yet. The most rumored as of now is 999. Though, we wouldn’t recommend putting any money on it at this point.
All will be revealed soon. Whether you look at it as a late Holiday gift or an incredibly early one, the news is exciting. If any rumors spill out between now and then we’ll be sure to share and speculate. Otherwise expect to hear more about it in January.
