Using Ford SYNC

For those of you new to a vehicle with Ford SYNC, you may not be using it to it’s full potential. And this OK many of you may have just gotten out of a car that still had a tape player in it. A transition like that makes it hard to know exactly how to use a whole new system. So your Tampa area Ford Dealership is here to help you understand SYNC and MyFord Touch better.

The first thing that you have to be sure of is that your phone has bluetooth capabilities and if it does, it has to be turned on. Also, one note to mention, SYNC can only work with one phone at a time. And now that your phone is on it is time to turn on your Ford as well as the radio/SYNC.

Then find the phone button and press it to open up the Phone Menu on the display. You will start by pressing OK, add a device will display and then your will select OK again. You will then be prompted with a message that says “Press OK to begin paring device.” So again, press OK.

You will then be asked to search for SYNC on your mobile device and enter a PIN that SYNC will provide. Press OK to move on to the next step. A six digit number will display on the screen. You will have three minutes to us the number to pair the phone as SYNC actively looks for a device with the same number.

It is important that you are ready to enter the number on your phone’s key pad. After you have SYNC will attempt to connect. Once it has a message will be displayed, letting you know that your phone is connected.
