The Most Innovative Automotive Brands

A little over 111 years ago, the Ford Motor Company was founded and incorporated by Henry Ford. Since then the automaker has continually made strides in innovation, not jumps or leaps, but consistent progress. This is why it was awarded the Golden Gear Award. Though Ford wasn’t the first to make a car, the Model T marked the beginning of the automotive industry as we know it today. Now we have vehicles like the F-150 and it still comes in black. More importantly Ford is still one of the most innovative automotive brands.

History of Ford

Henry Ford didn’t just bring something new to the table with the Model T or witty statements like “you can have it in any color as long as it’s black”. He also refined both the assembly line and vertical integration concepts. The moving assembly line was Henry’s vision and visions like this made it possible to create an automobile that was not only modern, but affordable. Big ideas like this helped Ford survive the Great Depression and is the reason why it is still leading the way today.

Iconic: The Mustang

It is the iconic realization of a more powerful and fun to drive car. From the April of 1964 to today, it continues to have a following like no other in the automotive industry.

Innovation: EcoBoost Engines, Safety and Advancement

Most recently, Ford has been recognized for its EcoBoost engine technology, the new lightweight materials that have improved upon the F-series and the industry first inflatable rear safety belts that provide additional protection for rear seat passengers.

Ford’s Future Vehicles

Over the next few years, the automaker plans to pursue better connectivity, mobility and the autonomous vehicle. Ford also plans to shape its company around the trends of the world at large to better meet the demands of the population. It’s been an exciting 111 years and we’re ready to see what Ford can do with another 111.
