2016 Ford F-150 Police Truck Capabilities
Ford has just significantly expanded its lineup of law enforcement vehicles. The 2016 Ford F-150 Special Service Vehicle adds several modifications over the civilian model. These modifications along with the 2016 Ford F-150 police truck capabilities make this the ultimate law enforcement machine.
“Our lineup aims to fulfill the unique needs of law enforcement officers, and our F-150 Special Service Vehicle is an extension of that offering. This vehicle definitely lives up to its Built Ford Tough reputation.” -Arie Groeneveld, Ford chief program engineer for police vehicles
Police F-150 cab options
The F-150 Special Service Vehicle is offered in both the SuperCrew and SuperCab configurations. Additionally, both four-wheel drive and two-wheel drive versions are available. For engine options, the truck can be equipped with either a 5.0-liter V8 or an EcoBoost 3.5-liter.
F-150 law enforcement modifications
Several modifications have been made to the civilian F-150 to prepare it for service work. Carpet has been replaced with vinyl flooring to make for easier cleanup. The stock alternator has been replaced by a high-output 240-amp unit designed for long idling times. 40/blank/40 seats have been substituted for the 40/20/40 seats, allowing for the center space to be customized to fit any need.
An F-150-based law enforcement truck has several benefits over different vehicles. The F-150 Special Service Vehicle can seat up to five people while still offering unmatched storage capacity in its bed. The 2016 F-150 Special Service Vehicle is a welcomed addition to the Ford lineup of law enforcement vehicles.
If the F-150 can serve law enforcement so well, it can be a great truck for you too. We would be happy to show you everything this truck can offer here at Brandon Ford. Take a look at our selection, or come on in for a test drive.
