Ford opens ordering period for 2017 Raptor

When Ford designed the 2017 F-150 Raptor, the goal was to create the ultimate off-road pickup truck. Ford fans eagerly awaiting this truck will not have to wait much longer. The 2017 Ford F-150 Raptor availability is here.
Shoppers looking to get behind the wheel of the 2017 F-150 Raptor can now configure and order their model truck online. Full-scale production of the Raptor will begin later this month.
2017 Ford F-150 Raptor Added Performance Features
Several additions have been made to the F-150 create the Raptor trim level. Ford designers have designed the truck to maximize off-road performance.
Headlining the list of upgrades is the Raptor’s new 3.5-liter EcoBoost V-6 engine. This impressive engine is now in it’s third generation and performance has never been more impressive. The engine produces a monstrous 450 horsepower and 510 pound-feet of torque. These are best-in-class numbers for a V-6 engine. When properly equipped, the engine can tow up to 12,200 pounds.

This engine sends the power to the wheels via Ford’s all-new 10-speed automatic transmission. The Raptor’s four-wheel-drive system utilizes a terrain-management system that allows drivers to choose from a variety of terrain settings that optimize the performance of the truck. Terrain settings include Normal, Street, Weather, Mud and Sanda, Baja and Rock Crawling. Each mode modifies the truck’s settings to adapt to that specific terrain.
2017 Ford F-150 Raptor models also offer model-exclusive styling and exterior accents. Additional off-road-oriented equipment includes a Torsen limited-slip front differential and forged, bead-lock capable wheels.
