Trucks like the Ford Super Duty are designed to be workhorses. When a job needs to get done, frequent stops at the gas pump can undermine productivity. In order to ensure that the new Super Duty can complete any job from start to finish, Ford has equipped the truck with an all-new fuel tank. The 2017 Ford Super Duty fuel capacity and range have never been greater.

New Ford Super Duty Fuel Tank

Ford will now offer the 2017 Super Duty with a 48-gallon fuel tank. This is the largest tank capacity in its class. This tank is 22 percent larger than the tank offered on the previous model year.

In addition to the larger fuel tank, Ford has utilized high-strength, military-grade aluminum alloy to lighten the new Super Duty and improve fuel economy. These factors work together to increase the range of the new truck.

2017 Ford Super Duty Engine Options

Ford offers two engine options on the 2017 Super Duty. Starting things off is a 6.2-liter gasoline engine that produces 385 horsepower and 430 pound-feet of torque. This engine is very capable, but the best performance numbers on the Super Duty come with the available 6.7-liter Power Stroke turbocharged diesel V8. This engine pushes the Super Duty’s horsepower rating up to 440 and the torque up to an impressive 925 pound-feet. The high torque rating allows the Super Duty to offer best-in-class towing ratings when properly equipped.
