But why exactly do we call it Ford’s feistiest new SUV? Well, all you need to do is check under the hood of a new 2021 Ford EcoSport to figure that out. That’s because you’ll find one of two fuel efficient and fun to drive engines under the hood – both of which have what it takes to give you the ride of your life. With that in mind, let’s check out the engine options and power ratings for the 2021 Ford EcoSport lineup.
As we pointed out over the course of our introduction, the 2021 Ford EcoSport lineup here at Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL, offers you the choice between two engine options. First up is an EcoBoost 1.0-liter engine which provides you with a horsepower rating of 123 and a torque rating of 125 pound-feet. This engine can get you up to 27 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. The other 2021 EcoSport engine is a 4-cylinder Ti-VCT 2.0-liter engine which provides you with a horsepower rating of 166 and a torque rating of 149 pound-feet. This engine can get you up to 23 miles per gallon in the city and 29 miles per gallon on the highway. Both of these engines are paired with a 6-speed SelectShift® automatic transmission complete with Auto Start-Stop capabilities.
