3 Christmas 2017 Events at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park in Tampa FL
With Thanksgiving in the rearview mirror, now’s the time to turn our attention to Christmas 2017 and the rest of the holiday season. And we’ve got the perfect recipe of holiday fun and excitement to get you in the spirit of the season. More specifically, we’re here to tell you all about three Christmas events taking place at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park right here in Tampa, FL. So, get that Santa hat out of storage, gather your little elves together and get out there to enjoy the holiday season.

Tampa Tree Lighting Ceremony
There’s no better way to kick off the month of December than with the lighting of a Christmas tree. And there’s no better Christmas tree lighting than the Tampa Tree Lighting Ceremony, taking place on Friday, December 1 from 6 to 10 p.m. at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park (600 North Ashley Drive). The Late Night Brass will kick things off, followed by the tree lighting at around 7:50 before things are wrapped up with a special holiday movie in the park. If you want to get in the spirit of the season, this is a great way to start.
Santa Fest and Downtown Tampa Holiday Parade
Make sure you don’t wear yourself out at the tree lighting, though, because the very next day (Saturday, Dec. 2) is Santa Fest and the Downtown Tampa Holiday Parade. The parade will begin at 11 a.m. at the intersection of Morgan and Madison streets. The parade will go west on Madison Street before turning north on Ashley Drive to get to its end point at Cass Street. Once you’ve seen the parade, it’ll be time to head on over to the park for free photos with Santa Claus plus ice skating, make-and-take holiday crafts and tons of other family fun and games.
7th Annual Winter Wonder Ride
The fun continues the next weekend with the 7th Annual Winter Wonder Ride. Taking place once again at Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, this event will be held on Saturday, December 9 from 2 to 11 p.m. The bike ride will take you through downtown Tampa before heading back to the park for a visit from Santa and live music.
