Ford Adaptive Cruise Control Helps Avoid Traffic Jams

Ford experts and traffic researchers from Vanderbilt University are teaming up to show drivers the advantages of using Ford’s Adaptive Cruise Control system to help avoid traffic jams. More specifically, Ford and Vanderbilt University have been running simulations to show how Ford’s Adaptive Cruise Control system can successfully suppress phantom traffic jams no matter how congested the traffic gets. Watch Now: How Ford Adaptive Cruise Control Suppresses Phantom Traffic Jams

The experts at Ford and Vanderbilt University used closed tracks to simulate normal highway traffic in order to test how well Ford’s Adaptive cruise control system – which is standard or available on 71 percent of new Ford cars, trucks and SUVs – works at alleviating grid lock.
