Performance highlights do not stop there for the 7th-Generation 2024 Ford Mustang. Tampa-area drivers who want to upgrade performance on the track can opt for the brand-new Ford Mustang Electronic Drift Brake. Learn how to use the 2024 Ford Mustang Electronic Drift Brake with this quick overview created by Brandon Ford in Tampa, FL.

How Does the 2024 Ford Mustang Electronic Drift Brake Work?

The 7th-Generation 2024 Ford Mustang is the perfect combination of iconic Ford Mustang performance and innovative technology that upgrades comfort, connectivity and performance. The segment-first Electronic Drift Brake is an innovative feature that will upgrade performance on the track and your excitement behind the wheel. The brand-new feature is standard equipment with the addition of the Ford Mustang Performance Pack and with this feature equipped, young drivers can learn how to drift and expert drivers can take their skills to the next level. All drivers need to do to use this feature is to put their Ford Mustang in Track Mode and activate the Drift Brake via the Ford SYNC® touchscreen display.

The Performance Electronic Drift Brake was developed by Formula Drift Champion Vaughn Gittin Jr. and the Ford Performance Team and will be used in the Ford Mustang RTR Spec 5-FD competition drift car. While many competitive drift cars employ a hydraulic hand brake for the rear wheels, the 2024 Ford Mustang replaces the hydraulic hand brake with the Electronic Drift Brake that functions as an electronic switch that overrides stability control and the Anti-Lock Braking System when in Track Mode. The Ford Mustang Performance Electronic Drift Brake is expected to deliver 3x more braking force.
