Parking Lot Safety on Black Friday

With the holiday season coming up, the rate of car break-ins will be going up with the increase of shopping. So we’ve come up with some ideas for parking lot safety on Black Friday and the rest of the holiday season. Some of it may be things you already do. If so, kudos to you, keep it up.

When in parking lots there can be intentional and accidental incidents. The best way to avoid everything is to always remain attentive. It is generally a good idea to keep your head up and stay of your phone or iPod while walking to or from your car. When you arrive at your car get in quickly and lock the doors.

If shopping it also helps to move your vehicle whenever you decide to drop off anything you’ve purchased. Even if you have a large vehicle like an Expedition, someone looking to loot a vehicle may be watching. If you drive away they will assume you’re leaving, but if you load up your vehicle and head back into the mall they will know you’re likely to be gone for awhile.

Also walk slowly and don’t run out from between two vehicles. This is especially important at night. Even though most drivers are moving slowly in parking lots, it could still be quite painful to get hit by a vehicle. And in a packed parking lot, like what you generally see on Black Friday, you may not be noticed by the driver.

It is also ideal to park a car like a Focus away from something large like a Ford F-150. If you’re far from the entrance or lights the cover of a large vehicle can be perfect for a thief to break in without being seen.

Lastly, we hope that you enjoy the holiday season and have a great experience on this upcoming Black Friday. Don’t forget, we will also be having our own sale this year, so come and stop by to see the great deals we have to offer on our large selection of Ford vehicles.
