Where Are the Best Parks in Tampa FL?

Who doesn’t love a trip to the park? Especially in the summer, when the kids are looking to get outside and the weather is even more beautiful than usual, there’s nothing quite like a family trip to one of our local parks. Really, the only problem is that there are so many gorgeous and wonderful parks here in Tampa, FL, that it can be hard to know which one to go to. With that in mind, we decided to create this little list of what we consider to be the top three parks in Tampa, FL. Whether you go to one of these or a different one altogether, just make sure you get out there and enjoy yourself.

Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park
One of our favorite parks here in Tampa, FL, is the Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, located at 600 North Ashley Drive. Positioned on the banks of the Hillsborough River, this park offers the Great Lawn (which is the perfect place to go enjoy a wide variety of performances), a dog run, trails, a pavilion, restrooms, two interactive fountains/spraygrounds, a playground complete with an interactive NEOS 360 Ring and much, much more.
Al Lopez Park
Al Lopez Park, located at 4810 North Himes Avenue, is another one of our favorites. This park features a 1.2-mile multi-purpose trail that’s perfect for walking or running. The park also features restrooms, picnic shelters, grills, fishing piers, two ponds, fishing stations, a community center and a dog park.
Ballast Point Park and Pier
We also love Ballast Point Park and Pier, located at 5300 Interbay Boulevard. This area features a splash park, a large playground, shady trees perfect for enjoying a good book under, picnic tables and a breathtaking view of the downtown skyline and the Davis Islands. You can also fish off the pier, which also houses a bait shop that has everything you need for a fun fishing adventure.
