Get More Engine Options, More Power and More Capability for Less Money with the New Ford Escape
We already mentioned the new Ford Escape is more affordable than the new Mazda CX-5, so let’s start there. The 2017 Ford Escape comes with a starting price almost $350 lower than the starting price of the 2017 Mazda CX-5. That means you’re getting more power and capability with the 2017 Escape, while also having an extra $350 in your pocket as you drive away.
Speaking of power and capability, the new Escape lets you choose from three different engines, with a maximum power rating of up to 245 horsepower. Conversely, the new CX-5 doesn’t let you choose your engine at all, offering only one engine capable of producing up to only 187 horsepower. And that additional power means additional capability, as the new Ford Escape can tow up to 3,500 pounds while the new Mazda CX-5 can only tow up to 2,000 pounds.
