The New Ford Fusion at Brandon Ford in Tampa FL Offers More Engine Options, More Max Power and Comparable Max Gas Mileage

A trademark of the 2018 Ford Fusion lineup’s versatility is that it allows customers to choose from a total of four powerful, capable and efficient gasoline engines. And that’s not counting the powertrain options of the new Ford Fusion Hybrid and the new Ford Fusion Energi. Conversely, the 2018 Chevy Malibu lineup gives you only two gasoline engines to choose from, not including the new Chevy Malibu Hybrid.

More engine options also means more capability. In fact, the new Ford Fusion engine lineup features a maximum of 325 horsepower and 380 pound-feet of torque, while the new Chevy Malibu engine lineup features a maximum of only 250 horsepower and 260 pound-feet of torque. While there’s a huge difference in power, the max gas mileage offered by the two engine lineups is actually quite similar. That’s because both model lineups get up to 36 miles per gallon on the highway, while the 2018 Chevrolet Malibu lineup maxes out at 27 miles per gallon in the city and the 2018 Ford Fusion lineup maxes out at 24 miles per gallon in the city.
