What’s New for the 2026 Ford Mustang?
The 2026 Ford Mustang builds on the foundation established by the previous model year and adds a brand-new FX Appearance Package. The FX Appearance Package will add an updated exterior that pays homage to the 1980s and 1990s Fox body style. When paired with the Performance Package, the Ford Mustang FX Appearance Package adds Oxford White 19-inch wheels and Oxford White accents to the Gloss Black grille treatment. With the FX Appearance Package, the Ford Mustang interior will add black leather upholstery with plaid inserts, silver and blue contrast stitching, and carbon fiber trim in Dark Horse models.
In addition to the FX Appearance Package, the 2026 Ford Mustang will add a pair of exterior color options that promise to turn heads. Adriatic Blue Metallic is a brand-new addition to the list of color options and Orange Fury Metallic returns to the list to provide drivers with a vibrant color option.
Engine Options and Specs
Performance is a hallmark of the 2026 Ford Mustang and the Ford Mustang lineups that came before. Mustang EcoBoost® and EcoBoost® Premium trim levels feature a 2.3-liter EcoBoost® four-cylinder engine that produces 315 horsepower and 350 pound-feet of torque with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Mustang GT and GT Premium trim levels are powered by a 480-horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 that is available with a 10-speed automatic or a six-speed manual gearbox. Mustang Dark Horse models upgrade power and performance with a 500-horsepower 5.0-liter V-8 married to a six-speed TREMEC® manual transmission.
The GT Performance Package is available for Mustang GT and Mustang GT Premium trim levels to deliver next-level performance. With the GT Performance Package, the Ford Mustang will add 19-inch alloy wheels, Brembo™ brakes, heavy-duty front springs, a TORSEN® differential, an upsized rear sway bar, a class-exclusive Drift Brake, and much more. Mustang Dark Horse models deliver a higher standard of performance with a standard MagneRide® Damping System and high-performance tires to pair with an available Handling Package.
